What started as a Christmas present for the women in my family, quickly turned into a passion project that I am so excited to be doing. Here is a little back story for you….
In September of 2018 my brother, Doug Jessup, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After three surgeries, chemo and radiation my brother has proven over and over that he is a warrior. In May of 2020, after his second surgery, Doug got a large tattoo on his arm of a lion with the words “Be Not Afraid”. He lived this mantra to the fullest, even when faced with a terminal illness.
I woke up on December 29, 2020 and felt the need to make these bracelets and their message public. That very afternoon my brother passed away after the most courageous fight. The timing seems so bitter-sweet, but I know he is looking down with tremendous joy that his message is living on.
I have created these bracelets in his honor and as a daily reminder to not live in fear. A portion of all proceeds will go to the National Brain Tumor Society.
The bracelets read “Be Not Afraid” in Morse code as a way for his message to live on and to be your own personal reminder to be not afraid.
